Answer: HomePlug is an industry consortium promoting a unified standard for the powerline networking technology. This consortium was formed in April 2000 and expects to release its first version of HomePlug power line networking standard in 2001. The consortium has more than 70 member companies within one year of its inception.
Question: What is the cost of setting up a Telewise home network? any special expertise required?
Answer: The cost of powerline networking devices is expected to be much lower than its wireless counterpart while offering similar convenience to the users. Telewise is delivering high performance, cost-effective power line networking devices that allow users to simply plug the devices into the power outlet and start to enjoy the benefit of a connected home.

Answer: Home networking enables users at home to share computers, peripherals, smart appliances, stereos, speakers, entertainment devices, and high speed Internet access to the world.
HomePlug compliant power line networking ICs are expected to be first incorporated into PC-centric applications. Other consumer electronic applications will follow shortly as PC-centric HomePlug products start to gain market acceptance.
