Peter Chen - Chairman
Mr. Peter Chen co-founded PCTEL in March 1994 and served as CEO and
Chairman of the Board from PCTEL's inception to February 2001.
He built PCTEL from ground to a
US$100 million dollars public company in 7 years. Prior to founding
PCTEL, Mr. Chen has over 14 years experience in communication
technologies development at Digicom Systems, Inc. (a company which
he co-founded), Cermetek and Anderson-Jacobson, Inc. He holds
2 US patents in HSP technology. Mr. Chen has a B.S. in Control Engineering form National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan, and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.
Dr. Ching-Yih Tseng - President/CTO (Acting CEO)
Dr. Tseng has over 15 years of experience in signal processing and data communications technology development. He co-founded ForteMedia in 1996, supervising the development of the first industrial Audio/Modem Combo chip. Prior to ForteMedia, Dr. Tseng held various positions at Davicom (a spin-off from UMC Semiconductor Foundry), Philips Semiconductors and Digicom (later acquired by Creative Lab). Dr. Tseng has published more than 30 technical papers in journals and conferences. He has also taught graduate level DSP courses in San Jose State University since 1999. Dr. Tseng has actively contributed to HomePlug power line networking standard and currently serves as HomePlug Specification Editor. Dr. Tseng received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Southern California, a M.S. degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a B.S. degree from National Taiwan University, all in Electrical Engineering.
